FAQ

1. WHAT DO WE NEED TO REALIZE YOUR PROJECTS BY CHEMICAL ETCHING AND LASER CUTTING?

In order to develop your ideas and realize your projects we need a vector file of the design you want to produce, so please send us your design in these formats:
  • .cdr
  • .dwg
  • .ai
  • .dxf
  • .pdf
  • .3dm
We will inform you if your project can be realized.

2. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE NEED IN ORDER TO SEND YOU A PRECISE AND DETAILED OFFER?

The main information we need are:
  • actual size of the design
  • material
  • thickness
  • order quantity
  • finishing
However, do not hesitate to tell us all the information you think are appropriate : the more details we have, the more precise the offer will be!

3. WHICH IS THE MINIMUN ORDER QUANTITY?

The minimum quantity that can be ordered is 2 sheets, in other words the highest possible number of pieces is drawn on a sheet (whose size changes according to the material, thickness and design to be produced) and then two are produced.

4. WHICH MATERIALS CAN WE CHEMICALLY ENGRAVE?

  • Brass
  • Bronze
  • Aluminum alloys
  • Steel (300-400 series stainless steel, for springs)
  • Copper
  • Nickel
  • Niclafor
  • Iron
  • Silver

5. WHICH MATERIALS CAN WE LASER CUT?

  • Brass
  • Bronze
  • Aluminum alloys
  • Steel (300-400 series stainless steel, for springs)
  • Carbon steel
  • Nickel
  • Niclafor
  • Titanium alloys
  • Iron
  • Monel

6.WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME FOR SAMPLES?

We usually deliver the samples two weeks after the day we receive the order. The process will take longer if you need special finishings.

7. WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME FOR PRODUCTION?

It is usually four weeks after the day we receive the order. In this case as well, the times are longer in case of special finishings.

8. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR CHEMICAL ETCHING AND LASER CUTTING?

Everything starts with a request from the customer, from which the best offer is formulated. If it is accepted, we start the sampling (in case the customer wants to check the quality of our work) or the ordinary production. Before the actual beginning of the project, the technical team sends an approval form to the customer. If it is not confirmed, all the necessary changes are made. If it is approved, the customer is sent an order confirmation with the final delivery date. As soon as the goods are ready, they are sent by express courier.

9. WHICH IS THE RULE FOR CHEMICAL ETCHING?

The simple rule of chemical etching is that to obtain a perforated design the minimum diameter of the hole and the distance between two holes must be at least equal to the thickness of the material used (steel 0.5 mm = diameter of the hole 0.5 mm and distance between holes 0.5 mm). If these parameters are not respected, there is a risk that the holes will not completely form or that the design will collapse because the right amount of material is missing.

10. WHAT ARE THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF CHEMICAL ETCHING?

Chemical etching has many advantages:
  • durable and editable systems
  • low production costs
  • realization of complex geometrical figures
  • we can work on many different materials without any chemical/physical alteration
  • fast prototyping and production
  • very small dimensional tolerances

11. WHAT ARE THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF LASER CUTTING?

The main advantages of laser cutting are:
  • low production costs
  • fast prototyping and production
  • sharp and precise cuts
  • reduction or elimination of possible finishing processes
  • absence of deformation
  • minimal loss of material
